Setup

Always

Turn on the 3 switches backstage for the moving fixtures, wash, and cross lights.

Turn on the lighting computer. Log in.

Launch the Eos Family application from the desktop. It will open the welcome screen, then automatically load Eos.

When Eos launches, the lighting console will immediately take control of the lights. The wall panel keypads are not operable for light control when the lighting console is in use.

The left screen displays a magic sheet with shortcuts and a map of the stage lighting fixtures. The right screen displays the current cue list.

For Basic Sunday Operation

Click the blue Base Cue List button on the top right of the left screen. This loads cue list 1, our standard Sunday service base cue list.

Verify that the color of the uplight wash (5 lights located behind the drums aimed up at the curtain) matches the current liturgical color. The colors are as follows:

Christmas Day to Epiphany Sunday: White

(Epiphany Sunday to Lent: Green)

Lent: Purple (can also be blue)

Easter to Pentecost: White

Pentecost: Red

Pentecost to Advent: Green

Advent: Purple (can also be blue)

For Full Sunday Operation

Whenever possible, we try to match colors on stage with the motion background(s) of the current worship song. At present, Roan will program this when he is at services, but otherwise, we use the base cue list.

Walkthrough

This is a walkthrough of how to run the lights during a service.

For Basic Sunday Operation

Make sure you have followed Setup for Basic Sunday Operation to start the console and load cue list 1. In a normal service, our stage lights are adjusted by advancing through a list of lighting cues, while the house (room) lights are adjusted manually. The cue list follows the order of the service - all you have to do is advance the cue at the appropriate time.

The base cue list, and when to advance cues, is as follows:

0.5 No Spot BASE - stay on for opening songs, welcome, and scripture reading

5 Sermon - advance when the scripture reader concludes and the pastor begins speaking

6 Pastor Exits to Communion - advance when the pastor walks off the stage to the alter

7 (auto) Movers Move to Communion - this automatically advances after Cue 6

8 Pastor Arrives at Communion - advance when the pastor is about to arrive at the alter

8.1 Servers Receive Elements - advance when the pastor finishes The Lord's Prayer and the servers have arrived at the alter

8.2 Servers at Far Stations - advance when the front servers have stopped at their left and right serving stations

9 Resume Worship - advance when the pastor finishes the benediction

10 (auto) Movers to Stage - this automatically advances after Cue 9

20 (auto) No Spot BASE - this automatically advances after Cue 10
